The Welsh settlers arrived at
Patagonia on July 28th 1865 aboard the ship Mimosa. Among the settlers there
were tailors, shoemakers, carpenters, doctors, brickmakers, and miners. The ship landed two months later at Puerto Madryn. In this page you will find information about why they
came here and their life in the settlement as well as their religion,
traditions, language and information about the first Welsh teacher in the
area. You can also find some vivid memories told by Welsh descendants. |
